A HISTORIC DAY | On May 15, 1995, the foundations for the Bruck\/Leitha Energy Park were laid – on this historic day, our first wind measurement system was installed – at the site of the current composting area in Bruck\/Leitha. Today, modern technology has found its way into wind measurement. Lasers are used to collect reliable data such as wind speed and wind direction from the ground up to a height of 250 meters. This was not always the case. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Unimaginable today: the mast for the first wind measurement consisted of assembled water pipes and was a “remarkable” 27 meters high. The results obtained in this way were poor. It soon became clear that wind strength increases significantly with height. A new measuring opportunity was sought and found on the site of the future Bruck\/Leitha wind farm. The wind measuring system – consisting of a lightning rod, anemometer, wind vane and signal light – was attached to the top of a 48-metre-high electricity pylon (in our picture it is on the ground). The results were good and the construction of the first wind farm by Energiepark Bruck\/Leitha was sealed. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What began in 1995 with a lot of passion, courage and commitment from a group of enthusiasts laid the foundation for the Energiepark Bruck\/Leitha of today. We are particularly proud that almost the entire team from back then is still here today, 30 years later, with so much joy, cohesion and energy. \ud83e\udde1<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
