The project, funded by the Climate and Energy Fund as part of the &#8220;Model projects &#8211; climate-resilient transformation in regions&#8221; call, is aimed at young people aged between 18 and 25 who are about to move into their first home. <\/p>\n<p>The aim is to raise participants&#8217; awareness of energy issues &#8211; from choosing an energy-efficient home and deciding on a climate-friendly heating option to furnishing with energy-efficient appliances. Innovative future topics such as energy communities, smart homes and balcony power plants with storage will also be covered during the one-year project. <\/p>\n<p>The first module at Pfadfinder:innen Bruck\/Leitha focused on the topic of &#8220;Homebase Check&#8221;. The young people learned in an interactive way what is important when looking for an apartment online: Which key figures in the energy certificate are decisive? What does the heating requirement mean? And how can you realistically estimate your own household budget? Sonja Wirgler and Tina Rigler from Energiepark Bruck\/Leitha used practical exercises and illustrative examples to work through these topics together. At the end of the workshop, group work was on the agenda: the aim was to find an affordable and energy-efficient apartment on well-known search platforms. The young people were concerned about the often high equity share, e.g. in cooperative apartments, as well as the additional costs on top of the basic rent, such as operating costs.
