[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Active mobility, i.e. walking and cycling, is being increasingly promoted in Lower Austria. Cross-municipal basic cycle networks serve to improve the infrastructure for everyday cycling. The “Bruck” basic cycle network has now been successfully completed in several municipalities in R\u00f6merland-Carnuntum. N\u00d6.Regional’s Mobility Management Industrieviertel supported the planning process and, together with KEM Energie3<\/sup>, continues to help the municipalities with the application for funding to implement the planned cycle paths. Since the Lower Austrian state funding guidelines for new Lower Austrian cycle path funding came into force at the end of 2020, basic cycle networks have formed the basis for cross-municipal planning for everyday cycling. The three municipalities of Bruck an der Leitha, G\u00f6ttlesbrunn-Arbesthal and H\u00f6flein worked intensively for over a year with the planning office Schimetta ZT and the specialist departments of the province of Lower Austria to plan their basic cycle network. It has now been officially completed. A comprehensive catalog of measures provides for a well-developed cycle path network in the planning area, which will optimally connect all important facilities in the five municipalities in the future. In addition to the almost 50 km of existing cycle paths and routes that do not require expansion, many other new projects with different priorities have been defined for a further 25 km or so. In addition to the construction of new sections of cycle path, the existing cycle infrastructure is also to be adapted in line with current road safety standards. In a next step, the new cycle infrastructure will now be specified in detailed planning, which will then be successively implemented over the next few years. For the region of Bruck\/Leitha and the surrounding area, this means in concrete terms: a comprehensive catalog of measures provides for a well-developed cycle path network in the planning area, which will optimally connect all important facilities in the three municipalities in the future. In the next step, the individual cycle path projects will now be specified in several detailed plans, which will then be successively implemented over the next few years. The focus will be on the connections to the neighboring municipalities of H\u00f6flein and G\u00f6ttlesbrunn-Arbesthal, which are also members of KEM Energie\u00b3. In addition, the cycle path network in Bruck\/Leitha will be densified and expanded. The Fischamender Stra\u00dfe cycle path from the federal schools to the elementary school will already be extended this year. Further detailed planning for the connections from Bruck\/Leitha to G\u00f6ttlesbrunn and H\u00f6flein is currently underway. In the medium term, Bruck\/Leitha is to receive further attractive cycle paths on the railroad line of the former trolley line (former Petronellerbahn) and with a connection from the train station and city center to EcoPlus.
