Around 60 motivated cyclists took part in the cycle tour through the KEM Energie3 municipalities of Höflein, Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal and the town of Bruck on September 20. They collected entries in a stamp pass at a refreshment station in each town. Those who completed the entire route took part in the prize draw. This took place in the shady garden of the Gasthaus Am Spitz in Höflein.
Mayor Otto Auer welcomed the cyclists and emphasized the importance of climate-friendly mobility. After a bicycle blessing by Pastor Jan Magyar from the Protestant church in Bruck-Hainburg, things got exciting: numerous regional prizes were raffled off among the participating cyclists. The group with the most participants was also ceremoniously crowned.
The cycle tour organized by the municipalities in cooperation with KEM Energie3 was part of an extensive programme to mark European Mobility Week, which has been in existence since 2002. For one week, cities and municipalities focus on sustainable mobility. It brings numerous benefits – for people and the environment. Anyone who travels by bike or on foot makes an active contribution to climate protection and reduces harmful emissions. At the same time, exercise in the fresh air promotes health, strengthens the cardiovascular system and increases fitness. Whether alone or in a group: sustainable transportation is fun, connects people, as the cycle tour has shown, and creates a new awareness of one’s own region.
