The 2025/2026 refurbishment bonus promotes the thermal refurbishment of detached and semi-detached houses and terraced houses that are more than 15 years old. Private individuals can apply for funding for comprehensive refurbishments, partial refurbishments (with at least 40% reduction in heating energy) and individual building component refurbishments.
Registration takes place online and must be completed by the end of 2026 at the latest. After registration, you have 9 months to implement the measures.
The amount of funding is up to 30% of the costs. Depending on the refurbishment, certain maximum amounts are set:
Individual component refurbishments: max. €5,000 for e.g. window replacement or facade insulation
Partial refurbishments (at least 40% reduction in heating energy): max. €10,000
Comprehensive refurbishment to a good standard: max. €15,000
Comprehensive refurbishment klimaaktiv: max. €20,000
Example: During a thermographic measurement, you have discovered that there are thermal bridges on your windows and you decide to replace them. With the renovation bonus, you can receive 30% of the costs of €12,000, i.e. €3,600. If the costs amount to €16,666, you can claim the maximum subsidy amount, i.e. €5,000.

Own work (e.g. if only insulation material is purchased and the insulation is carried out by yourself) cannot be subsidized -> Company invoices required!
To apply for the subsidy, an energy consultation (for individual building component renovations) or an energy certificate (for partial and comprehensive renovations) is required in advance!
