Excursion of the KEM core team to the viewing wind turbine at the Bruck/Leitha wind farm
Our KEM core team recently experienced a very special highlight: a visit to the observation wind turbine at the Bruck/Leitha wind farm. The wind farm has a special significance not only for the region, but also for the whole of Austria – it was founded back in 2000 and is therefore one of the pioneers of domestic wind power utilization.
Today, there are 12 wind turbines here with a total output of 30 MW, which can supply up to 5,000 households with clean energy. A real landmark is the observation wind turbine – one of only six in the world. The platform offers an impressive view of the landscape, including the entire KEM Carnuntum region, as well as the opportunity to experience the dimensions of this technology up close.
Wind power also plays a central role in our KEM region: with a total installed capacity of 137 MW, it is a strong source of energy that we are proud of.
The mayors of the region, Gerhard Math, Leonhard Brassat and Leopold Zwickelstorfer, took the opportunity to either climb the platform themselves or marvel at the technical marvel from below. Regardless of the perspective, it was an impressive experience for everyone involved with a clear message: the future is renewable and full of energy.
