Flowering areas in our KEM
Flower meadows and biodiversity areas are essential for the preservation of biodiversity. They provide a habitat for insects, promote the pollination of crops and improve the soil, water and microclimate. In Lower Austria, at least 10% of municipal land should be used to preserve biodiversity by 2030.
Our KEM municipalities are already setting an example here and have already dedicated some municipal areas as flowering areas for insects. And it’s having an effect! The flower meadows of Carnuntum are humming and buzzing! Here are a few impressions.
