An excursion in a class of its own – the wind turbine in Bruck/Leitha

An experience you won’t forget in a hurry: As part of the celebrations to mark 30 years of the Bruck/Leitha Energy Park, interested private individuals from the Carnuntum Climate and Energy Model Region (KEM) took the unique opportunity to climb the impressive wind turbine in Bruck an der Leitha – accompanied by KEM Manager Tina Rgiler.

The observation wind turbine is one of only three of its kind in the world and is considered a true landmark of innovative energy use and sustainable tourism. The ascent leads up 279 steps to a height of 65 meters, where a breathtaking panoramic view of the Leitha Mountains, Lake Neusiedl and the Vienna Basin opens up.

In addition to the impressive view, the excursion offered exciting insights into the history and technology of the wind turbine. The participants learned first-hand how the energy park and the surrounding municipalities, including those of KEM Carnuntum, have played a pioneering role in the field of renewable energies for decades and how closely innovation, sustainability and regional cooperation are linked here.
