Petronell Energy Community

The information event on 24.10.2024 in the Kulturhaus Petronell on the topic of the energy community was met with great interest. In addition to the mayor Martin Almstädter and the KEM Carnuntum team consisting of Philip Loitsch and Tina Rigler, Markus Unger and Stefanie Plank from the company wir sind solar were also present. After a general section on the question of what energy communities actually are and what advantages they offer, Mr. Unger gave a detailed presentation on the neoom energy community model, which is also being considered for Petronell. This is because neoom establishes a regional energy community at each substation from 10 interested parties. This saves the participants from having to set up an association and the time-consuming bureaucracy. They only pay a small service fee, but can enjoy all the benefits of the energy community without any stress:

  • Regional added value: joint production and consumption of renewable electricity from the region
  • Economic efficiency: better tariffs for feeders and more favorable conditions for consumers, as well as 28% savings on grid costs
  • And not to be neglected: an active contribution to the energy transition.

The site visit confirmed that the people of Petronell also like this concept and there have already been some pre-registrations for the energy community. We are confident that the establishment of the energy community at the Bad Deutsch-Altenburg substation (which supplies all Petronell households with electricity) will soon become a reality. If your address is also near the Bad Deutsch-Altenburg substation and you would also like to participate, you can register here register here.
