Joining the “Raus aus dem Öl” initiative marks the start of the continuation phase of KEM Energie³
The climate and energy model region (KEM) Energie³ (consisting of the municipalities of Bruck/Leitha, Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal and Höflein) supports the provincial initiative “Raus aus dem Öl” (“Get out of oil”) and is expanding this to include gas. In cooperation with the province of Lower Austria, eNu (Lower Austrian Energy and Environment Agency) and the Bruck/Leitha Energy Park, KEM Energie³ offers free and independent energy consultations. “Our common goal is to provide all interested citizens of the three municipalities with comprehensive and independent information about the benefits of environmentally friendly heating. Attractive subsidies make the switch easier: there are currently up to €10,500 in non-repayable federal and state subsidies for switching from oil to pellets or heat pumps, for example. That’s around half of the investment costs,” agree mayors Gerhard Weil, Franz Glock and Otto Auer. “Oil and gas heating systems are responsible for a third of household greenhouse gas emissions. Lower Austria was the first federal state to ban oil boilers in new buildings. Now it is a matter of continuing along this path consistently for existing oil heating systems. I am delighted that the municipalities of Bruck/Leitha, Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal and Höflein are supporting our initiative and making use of our wide range of information and advice services,” said Deputy Provincial Governor Stephan Pernkopf. Climate and Energy Model Region Manager DI Irene Schrenk from the Bruck/Leitha Energy Park will be happy to answer any questions about switching to renewable energy sources on 0699 121 68 100 or i.schrenk@energiepark.at.
