1st KEM wild herb walk

Lively interest in the KEM wild herb walk in Regelsbrunn

Despite light rain, numerous interested people came to the wild herb walk with experienced herbalist Michaela Hild on March 28, 2025. The meeting point was the church in Regelsbrunn, where the participants were welcomed by KEM manager Tina Rigler. The mayor of Scharndorf, Leopold Zwicklstorfer, was also part of the group. Together, the group made their way to the traverse, where the first wild herbs were discovered.

Michaela Hild guided us through the world of wild herbs with a wealth of specialist knowledge about botany and their ingredients, as well as vivid anecdotes about their ancient significance. She explained their traditional use – from ancient customs to medicinal applications – and gave valuable tips on how to identify and collect them safely. Under the motto “Old knowledge revived”, wild garlic, chickweed and nettle, among others, were examined in detail.

The event was met with great enthusiasm and showed impressively how valuable knowledge about local herbs is, even in this day and age.
