Kick-off of the cooperation between KEM Carnuntum and the Petronell library association.
The year 2025 is all about the climate at the Petronell library. To this end, KEM has donated a selection of children’s, youth and adult novels to the library that address climate change in an entertaining and touching way without pointing the finger. The following books are now available for the public to read and borrow from the Petronell library:
-
- The climate pigs (children’s book, animal story) by Till Penzek
- Cafe Käfer (children’s book on the subject of biodiversity) by Marie Gamillscheg
- It doesn’t get any greener than this – The summer I saved the world (young adult novel) by William Sutcliffe
- No Alternative (youth novel on the subject of climate activism) by Dirk Reinhard
- 2084 – a time travel through climate change (dystopia) by James Lawrence Powell
- The Year of the Dugong (dystopian courtroom novel set in a time after the climate crisis) by John Ironmonger
The books will be presented in the next issue of the library magazine “Quid leges?”. The two children’s books “Cafe Käfer” and “Die Klimaschweine” will also be read aloud at the “Lies mit Birgit” event later this year. This means that the year 2025 is all about the climate. The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of climate change among young and old alike. Thank you for the excellent cooperation!
