There was a lot going on in Mannersdorf the other day! At the first KLAR! meeting, Julia Jüly, KLAR! Manager of KLAR! Am Leithaberge, was able to welcome very special guests alongside the citizens and municipal representatives of the KLAR! municipalities: The pupils of class 3b of VS Mannersdorf, together with their class teacher Alexia Kusolits-Wieser, presented their project idea as a model that clearly illustrates how a square could be designed in a climate-friendly way. The realization of the model was supported by former City Councillor for Culture Josef “Pip” Müller. The topic of climate change adaptation was thus conveyed in a tangible way, as was the importance of helping to shape a future worth living. Ursula Aldrian, principal of the elementary school, is proud of this concrete and creative contribution by the pupils and is looking forward to the first steps towards implementation. This highlight was followed by the opening of the ‘Climate & Me’ exhibition by the Lower Austrian Energy and Environment Agency, which will now be on display in the monastery for the next few weeks. The monastery is open on Sundays. The focus of the KLAR! Treff also focused on providing information and exchanging ideas about the KLAR! Region and measures in the concept. A short presentation looked at what has already happened during the conception phase and how things will continue. Input was then given on the individual measures in open discussion rounds and information was gathered. The young visitors to the first KLAR! Treff was accompanied by a valuable forest education program. The event was supported by Die Wüste Nature Park. The first KLAR! meeting was attended by representatives from all five participating municipalities of KLAR! Am Leithaberge.
