CLIMATE STAR | What an honor! Together with Mayor Gerhard Weil from the municipality of Bruck/Leitha, we were able to bring the Climate Star to Bruck/Leitha – ceremoniously presented by Deputy Governor Stephan Pernkopf! Our Agri-PV project Sonnenfeld was one of 16 international projects to receive an award from the Climate Alliance of Lower Austria. The award ceremony took place in a festive setting at Grafenegg Castle. We are delighted that we were able to impress the high-caliber jury with the EWS Sonnenfeld. Because – in addition to solar power, a solar field also supplies valuable food. Irene Schrenk from KEM Energie³, to which Bruck/Leitha also belongs, was the driving force behind the submission of this flagship project. The EWS Sonnenfeld Bruck/Leitha was significantly supported by the Climate and Energy Fund as a PV lighthouse project and is being scientifically monitored by the BOKU Vienna team led by Dr. Alexander Bauer. Various research zones are being used to investigate how different factors such as precipitation, shading and solar radiation etc. affect the crops. The first valid results are expected next year. Energy Park CEO Herbert Stava, Mayor Gerhard Weil, Beppo Harrach – on whose property the EWS Sonnenfeld was built – and his wife Saba, as well as Joachim Payr and Julian Schauerhuber from EWS Consulting, KEM Energie³ Manager Irene Schrenk and the team from the Bruck/Leitha Energy Park were delighted to receive the Climate Star award.
