Review: Event Climate-Friendly Forests and Floodplains

The KLAR! Am Leithaberge and the Mannersdorf Desert Nature Park jointly hosted a specialist event in the Götzendorf community hall. The lecture program with top-class speakers with forestry experience covered ecological, economic, legal and climatic challenges in the forest.

During the excursion to the Trautmannsdorfer Au and the Leitha Mountains, various forest communities and silvicultural strategies were examined directly on site. CLEAR! Core Group member from Trautmannsdorf, Rudi Maurer, played a key role in organizing the event with his knowledge of floodplains and forests and was delighted with the interest shown by the participating forest owners. Forest owners and managers create both economic value and ecologically important habitats with diverse, climate-fit forests.
