The children of Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal elementary school were very enthusiastic about the project on September 23. As part of European Mobility Week, the children painted and creatively decorated the street in front of Göttlesbrunn-Arbesthal elementary school with vine leaves, grapes and suns under the title “Children, let the street blossom”. The aim of the campaign was to make the street space more than just a traffic area, but rather a living space. Whether on foot, by bike or on a scooter on the way to school – this not only protects the climate, but also promotes the independence of the youngest children in road traffic. Even small units of exercise increase children’s ability to concentrate and support healthy development. The children were very enthusiastic and energetic. The “blossoming street” with the creative works of art was admired and admired by the parents immediately after the painting campaign. The parents’ association was also actively involved, supporting the campaign with small refreshments for the children and parents. Mayor Franz Glock congratulated the children on their successful works of art: “We are delighted to be taking part in European Mobility Week for the first time. With the “Blooming Streets” campaign, we are sending a visible signal within the municipality that these issues and our children are important to us.” The pre-school children from Göttlesbrunn kindergarten also admired the works of art and were able to gain their first insights into “their” future elementary school. “Environmentally friendly mobility is the future.
